The story we bring into prayer
At San Giovanni Rotondo, Padre Pio spent long hours celebrating Mass, hearing confessions and guiding people who came to him. The wounds that drew public attention belonged to a priest whose daily ministry brought people face to face with Christ's forgiveness.
His concern also took the form of a hospital, the House for the Relief of Suffering, opened in 1956. Body and soul both mattered. His story gives us a practical invitation: bring our sins honestly to God, and take another person's physical suffering seriously.
