The story we bring into prayer

Catherine Labouré entered the Daughters of Charity in 1830. That year, Our Lady appeared to her in Paris. As the Miraculous Medal spread, Catherine kept her role largely hidden and continued the work assigned to her community.

At the Hospice d'Enghien she worked in the kitchen and laundry, cared for elderly people and stayed beside the dying. She welcomed the poor at the door. Her story asks something close to home: whether we can offer patient love even when nobody will remember our name.

Which ordinary task could become an act of love today?
