FIND GOD’S MERCY

A question about mercy

Can God forgive me?

No sin is too terrible for God to forgive when we sincerely repent and turn back to Him. Begin with the truth about what happened and a willingness to receive His help.

Mercy can reach this part of your life

The Catholic Church teaches that no offense is beyond the forgiveness Christ offers to someone who sincerely repents. You do not need to pretend that the wrong was small. You can bring the part of your life you find hardest to name into His mercy.

Repentance begins with a real choice

Repentance means sorrow for sin and a sincere decision to turn away from it. Ask God for that change of heart, even if your prayer feels awkward. Take one honest step against the pattern that needs to change.

Bring it to confession

For a baptized Catholic returning after serious sin, the sacrament of Reconciliation is the ordinary way home. Tell a priest that you need help. His task is to guide you with truth and patience. What you confess in the sacrament is protected by the seal of confession.

Let the return continue

After confession, take the next ordinary step: pray, follow the guidance you received, and begin the repair that is possible. If the situation also calls for treatment or practical support, receive that help. You can face the work ahead with someone beside you.

Jesus, I bring You the truth I have been afraid to face. Give me sincere repentance, courage to confess, and grace to change. Lead me home. Amen.
